Wilderness is not your typical British festival; you won’t find knee-deep quagmires, burnt down tents and hordes of drunken teenagers, instead, head to Cornbury Park in Oxford and you’ll discover a festival experience more like a posh Butlins than the debauchery of Reading Festival or Boomtown.

This festival has a lot to offer, and we really mean it. Its truly a weekend curated meticulously to provide a truly memorably and incredible experience, and from the incredible line-up to the outstanding food on offer, Wilderness feels more like a summer getaway than a music festival.

With life drawing, long table banquets with food from Yottam Ottolenghi, a champagne bar, a rioja terrace, a lake-side spa, yoga sessions, meditation and a whole lot more, this could be the fanciest festival we’ve seen.

With all this on offer already, Wilderness’ line-up tops it all off! We take a look up and down the bill at some of the incredible artists heading to Cornbury Park this August:

Nile Rodgers & Chic

Absolute legends Nile Rodgers and Chic have been killing it on festival stages for years and years, always providing the headline experience you need. Need we say more?

Jon Hopkins

UK legend Jon Hopkins will be bringing his unique bled of organic house and techno, with a new release out today! Having worked with the likes of Brian Eno, Imogen Heap and Coldplay, Hopkins’ experience is endless, allowing him to truly bring his music to life in a live setting, creating a truly immersive and transcendent experience.

His 2013 album, Immunity, has been labelled as a modern classic, definitely highlighting a peak in Hopkins’ career as a producer. The organic feel to the album, created through a mix of analogue gear, acoustic instruments and naturual sounds from the studio itself, makes for a headphone experience like no other.

Having just announced his first new album in five years, Singularity, check out the lead single “Emerald Rush” below!

Kamasi Washington

One of the key figures in keeping the fire of Jazz burning, saxophonist, composer, producer and bandleader Kamasi Washington is a must see. Credited with making Jazz cool again, Washington’s mix of cosmic, West-coast style Jazz has been turning heads of traditionalists and non-believers alike.

His 2017 release, Harmony of Difference, is more than just an LP of Jazz numbers; it’s a cinematic listening experience, essentially throwing the Jazz rulebook out of the window in exchange for layered, dream like compositions that flow in to one another through the playful use of sonic themes of motifs.

A man who has worked with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Lauryn Hill, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Chaka Khan as well as playing saxophone on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Kamasi is the best example of of the refreshing direction Jazz is taking.

IAMDDB

Diana Debriot, AKA, IAMDDB, is another young female artist putting out some incredibly original and refreshing tunes. Describing her music as “Urban Jazz”, the 21-year-old Mancunian artist looks set to continue blowing up throughout 2018.

With influences drawn from her Portuguese and Angolan roots and time spent performing with African bands at Jazz festivals with her father, her vocals glide between singing and rap, with a style soaked in authenticity and originality.

Groove Armada

Another legendary act heading to Cornbury Park, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay will be bringing their catalogue of unforgettable bangers to Wilderness 2018.

Peggy Gou

With a sound somewhere in between Detroit, London and Berlin, Peggy Gou is a highly unique and singular artist on a creative journey. Based in Berlin, the Korean DJ and producer has been turning heads in underground circles with regular streams of high quality mixes and highly conceptual tracks lined up on a host of labels.
