D-BRIDGE (Exit Records)

A veteran producer and one of the most experienced artists in Drum & Bass, Darren White known as dBridge, is an artist whose multiple transformations and evolutions glide through a staggering list of achievements. Over the course of a long and distinguished career, he has been at the heart of some the most exciting collaborative partnerships Drum & Bass has ever seen, from Future Forces to Bad Company and Club Autonomic. dBridge has also devoted a large amount of focus to his label Exit Records, releasing compilations, ground-breaking singles, and artist LPs as he continues to mentor a new breed of producers inspired by his career.  As a solo artist, dBridge remains versatile with his own productions for labels including Exit, Metalheadz, R&S Records, Hotflush and many more, and continues to drop equally diverse and genre defying DJ sets at events across the world. With releases ranging from dubstep at 140 to modern jungle around 180, he is the perfect headliner for this show as he is established within both the dub and dnb scenes!

DILLINJA (Valve Recordings / Metalheadz)

There are few producers on the drum'n'bass scene who are as respected and revered as Dillinja. With his trademark combination of dirty stomach-churning basslines and tighter than tight beats, his reputation has been secured as one of the most influential producers in drum'n'bass history, and by the age of 23 had 50 releases under his belt. A true connoisseur of sound, Dillinja's mighty 96k Valve Sound System is recognised the world over as being second to none. As well as his own label, Dillinja went on to record for many other drum'n'bass labels, including Bryan Gee and Jumpin' Jack Frost's V Recordings and Philly Blunt labels, Hardleaders, Prototype and Goldie's pioneering Metalheadz imprint. Dillinja used these labels to show his unique musical versatility; while labels such as Philly Bluntand Lionheart Records showcased some of Dillinja's more raw jungle based sounds, as in 'Muthafucka' and the reggae-fuelled basslines of 'Lionheart' (produced with Bert), his seminal 1994 Blade Runner-sampling release 'The Angels Fell' was at the helm of the new wave of drum'n'bass encapsulated in the cutting edge Metalheadz sound. It is this fusion of dark basslines and tightly produced beats that has become Dillinja's trademark sound today.

This is why we are over the moon that Dillinja will be giving us a display of the history of the sound of Metalheadz which he had so much influence on, as Metalheadz continues to dominate the heavy hitting drum and bass sound that everyone now craves and its influence on the rest of the dnb scene.

KAHN + NEEK (Bandulu Records / DEEP MEDi MUSiK)

Although often painted as two of the UK’s meanest warlord selectors, Kahn & Neek’s ruff-and-tuff reputation often masks how intelligent and fluid their DJ sets really are. Rolling between grime, dubstep and various mutated sound system styles (and all on wax), they’re as comfortable playing meditative, heads-only DMZ raves as they are playing to rowdy festival crowds, matching their output accordingly. Masters of pulling out records from seemingly nowhere – often VIPs or dubs they’ll have cut especially for whatever party they’re playing – the two, having both learnt to DJ as kids, are always in-sync with their movements too. Informed by their own individual and collective musical pursuits away from Kahn & Neek, especially as part of 11-strong musical collective Young Echo and as label heads of their Bandulu label, it is their insistence on staying true to traditional sound system culture that makes them such an exciting and powerful DJ outfit.

“If Mala is the King of Dubstep, then Kahn is the crown Prince” Mixmag.

We invite Kahn + Neek to take us through the best the dubstep and grime scene has to offer and are gassed to hear what dubs they are going to be cutting especially for us … Yesiyah!

KNARLA (Dub Set)

LAYCE (DnB Set)

One half of Materials’ trusty B2B residency pairing, Layce is no stranger to infecting a dancefloor with rhythm and heavy hitting bass. Whether it is playing 3 or 4 tracks at the same time and cutting the drops or manipulating the crowd in a way that has them in the palm of his hand, Layce always delivers and forces you to either screw up your face or gasp at how he pulled off a blend right before that drop. He will be digging through his discogs for this dnb set to get your hips swingin and gun fingers killin!
