Arguably the UK’s foremost political singer-songwriter, rabble-rouser and activist Billy Bragg returns to the touring circuit with a career retrospective.

Over the course of 35 years, Billy Bragg has inspired millions with music that is both “rousing and nuanced” (The Guardian) challenging the status quo and being a loudhailer for the unheard. Bragg has a fire in his belly that continues to burn and music of the working classes that is just as essential and immediate as it ever has been. “It’s been established over and over that he’s a national treasure” (The Quietus) and this tour will be a reminder of exactly why that is.

Performing over three consecutive nights at Fiddlers, Bragg’s sets will encompass his 35 year career, flicking through the pages of his songbook and revisiting his back catalogue of albums focusing on a different era each night.

FIRST NIGHT: Wed 10 Jul
The first night’s performance will feature Bragg’s current set, which ranges across his 35 year career.

SECOND NIGHT: Thu 11 Jul
The second night will see Bragg perform songs from his first three albums: his punk rock debut Life’s a Riot with Spy Vs Spy (1983), its similarly raw follow-up Brewing Up with Billy Bragg (1984) and Talking with the Taxman about Poetry (1986).

THIRD NIGHT: Fri 12 Jul
The third performance will see Bragg perform songs from his second three albums: the positively jangled Workers Playtime (1988), the pop classic Don’t Try This at Home (1991) and the back-to-basics William Bloke (1996).
