From its origins in 2000 as a student protest to one of Europe's biggest festivals, EXIT has seen over two and a half million people descend on the Petrovaradin Fortress in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. Seriously, this is a big festival - 2018 saw an attendance of 198,000, that's 63,000 more than Glastonbury.
EXIT has won the 'Best Overseas Festival' award at the UK Festivals awards in 2007, 'Best Major Festival Award' in 2013 and 2017 and was ranked one of the 10 best major festivals at European Festivals Awards 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 and one of the 10 Best Overseas Festival at UK Festival Awards 2013.
Alongside the music is the activism and work of the EXIT Foundation. After being founded as a student movement fighting for democracy and freedom in Servia and the Balkans, the festival has continued to build upon their social responsibility with youth projects, academic opportunities and supporting creative industries.
Right next to the Danube in the picturesque Serbian city of Novi Sad, this festival offers a holiday experience like no other.
