Stand-up and off-beat one-liner comedian, and writer for BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show and The News Quiz, as well as BBC Radio 4Extra’s Newsjack.
Debut show from professional clothes-wearer Saskia Preston. In this blurb, Saskia will hint that she’s a really cool and self-aware model by saying ‘professional clothes wearer’ but really the only thing that’s definitely true is that she’s a French missionary married to Megan Merkel. This can’t be discussed in the show for national security reasons but there will be jokes about Dads, Mums, friends, girlfriends, dogs and mice instead. Mostly one-liners. And occasionally jokes that are longer than 30 seconds.
Saskia has performed at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival every year since 2013 in various mixed billed shows. Last year, she was part of the prestigious showcase, AAA Stand Up Late show at The Pleasance, and now excitingly, for this coming Edfringe, Saskia will be bringing her characteristic quick wit and hilarious delivery for her debut solo show.
Born in the UK, Saskia spent her childhood in Hong Kong and Portugal before returning to Britain to study English at the University of St Andrews. Previous to starting comedy Saskia had a career in advertising and journalism and has written for, among others, The Guardian and The Financial Times.
