From headline acts to unknown artists, we've got the ultimate list of acts you just can't afford to miss at this year's festival

2018's Benicàssim Festival boasts a stellar line-up, with Liam Gallagher, The Killers, Travis Scott and Pet Shop Boys taking up the headline spots. From grime to house to indie to disco, the line-up has something from everyone, whether it be the huge Las Palmas rockstars or the smaller South Beach Dance Stage artists. Having matched last year's huge line-up, this year is perfect for discovering new music and old favoruites.

The Magic Gang

Brighton’s newest indie recruits play the Visa stage on Thursday night at this year’s festival. Nominated for Best New Artist at this year’s NME awards and bragging a debut album which reached number 12 in the charts, this quirky foursome are the alternative indie you need this summer.

Jessie Ware

The dulcet tones of this English rose have graced the British music scene for six years now, and we are delighted she is back on the festival circuit. She holds the crucial midnight slot of the Visa stage on Thursday, performing tracks from her celebrated 2017 album Glasshouse and hopefully some new music.

Eric Prydz

You may remember him as the guy who did the saucy aerobics music video, but the Swedish DJ is much more than a pair of leg warmers and his 2004 hit ‘Call On Me’. Dominating in Ibiza this summer, his progressive techno set is sure to be a highlight of the dance music this festival as he headlines the Las Palmas stage on Friday.

Sleaford Mods

For those who haven’t heard of this band, imagine yer da and uncle after a few pints down the local, swearing profusely and putting the world to rights. Sleaford Mods are an innovative, politically-charged electro-punk duo made up of Jason Williamson’s vocals and Andrew Fearn’s beats, ranting and raving about Tory Britain… and it’s bloody brilliant. They play the Visa stage at 9pm on Friday night.

The Charlatans

One of Manchester’s well-established rock bands, The Charlatans have been slaying festival stages since the 90s. 2017’s Different Days peaked at number four in the charts, new EP Totally Eclipsing came out last month and the band hosted their own North by Northwich festival in their hometown this summer, all proving they’re still one of the country’s most-loved bands. Catch them at midnight on Friday on the Visa stage.

Pet Shop Boys

The synthpop duo don’t need much introduction. Since forming in London in 1981, they’ve gone on to secure themselves four number one singles and a number one album, and are one of the most successful duos over the last four decades. This year they return to Benicàssim, boasting a 2016 album of stomping beats and synthy samples, bringing some 80s classics to the prime time Las Palmas spot on Saturday.

Giggs

Having established himself as one of the UK’s top grime artists over the last ten years, Giggs knows how to perform, securing himself a strong reputation as a great live act. On stage after The Horrors' Visa set on Saturday, Giggs is sure to get the energy up and the passion for grime rising.

Justice

You may know French electronic music duo Justice for that famous track 'D.A.N.C.E.', but the pair are also responsible for some fantastic disco-inspired live sets. Performing after Liam Gallagher on Sunday’s Las Palmas stage, they are set to bring something slightly different to the Benicàssim headline spot.

Shame

Brixton punk band Shame have been making waves in the British alternative scene over the last year, their offensive and aggressive brilliance making its mark on the genre. They’re ballsy and they write unadulterated (and we mean completely unadulterated) tracks about politics and perverts, actively refusing and rejecting any kind of rock star persona. They perform in a well-earned Las Palmas Sunday slot.

Wolf Alice

Another London alternative band on our list, Wolf Alice have dominated the indie scene over the last few years, with their rough-around-the-edges, female-led quirk attracting much chart attention. The four-piece are set to shake up the Visa stage on Sunday night.
