It's an extra place to add to your bucket list for Friday and Saturday nights

In case you missed it, a Dutch bar in Old Market in Bristol was open last year. But it lasted 11 months, so we're not expecting you to have been. Nevertheless, it's now been replaced by a brand new club for the city, and the launch party gave us the impression that it's going to be quite a hit.

Brisco is a club owned by pub owners who also run the Golden Lion on Gloucester Road, and it's going to be a mixture of a good food place and a party night for Friday and Saturdays. Specialising in funk, soul, disco and hip-hop, DJs will be playing live on the weekend from about 10pm onwards.

As well as that, standard speaker music will be played from Tuesday to Thursday, and Sunday nights will be karaoke night. So, you can visit there on the Friday night instead of SWX, because cheesy music can get a bit repetitive, and then a couple of days later completely embarrass yourself during karaoke.

Brisco is open from 10pm-2am, so it won't be a late one. However, it's on West Street in Bedminster, so prepare yourself for quite a trek. The owners said the launch party was a big success, and they plan on bringing a different vibe to Old Market.

Quick bit of advice too, we don't think missing a lecture down to the excuse of being too scared to show your face after failing the high notes while singing Adele is quite a good enough excuse.
