Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk releases a 14-minute techno track

Composed for the Latvian movie Riga (Take 1), the 14-minute long track has been released in full this week after previously being notoriously difficult to obtain.

Despite the movie receiving little praise, the soundtrack was critically accailmed and even nominated for the Latvian Film Prize’s Best Score award last year.

So while this isn't new Daft Punk, fans may find some comfort in the release of this lengthy techno odyssey. The synth's definitely have  Daft Punk flavour about them, going some way to tide the hungry masses over through the long wait for new material from the legendary electronic duo.

Listen to the full track below.

Daft Punk haven't released a single shred of new music since 2013's "Rnadom Access Memory", but have appeared sporadically through the following years on various other projects both as a duo and solo including The Weeknd's ‘Starboy‘ and ‘I Feel It Coming’.

Bangalter also contributed to the French film Climax earlier this year, the plot of which revolves around a troupe of hip-hop dancers experiencing a bad trip after they accidentally ingest psychadelics. The soundtrack also features Daft Punk's ‘Rollin’ & Scratchin”.
