Welcome to a very special edition of festive sauce
Every month we stress the importance of two things: better nights out and sauce.
As Christmas approaches, sauce comes into its element as a saviour of all things dry and overcooked. Your enthusiasm for venturing out may be fading as the weather closes in, but like cranberry sauce to a moistureless turkey leg - we've got you.
Log out of Netflix, knock back a mug of mulled wine and forget the fact that it's proper grim outside, there's a whole load of concept events, massive DJ sets and live performances still to come in what's left of 2018.
So, here's December's spiciest events bottled up and ready to squeeze over your usual social routine. Napkins not provided.
For one night only, Big Bad Events are throwing a massive twist'n'shake party that'll live up to the grandure of Tarantino's movies.
Featuring a massive selection of tunes from and inspired by the movies, the DJ team from K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70s will be spinning 70s Funk, Soul, vintage Hip-Hop, Rock'n'Roll and Soundtracks all night long.
Plus, it's not too late to bag yourself some Tarantino goodies and prizes before the event kicks off:
Brixton hero Sneakbo is heading to Brighton's Haunt with an arsenal of grime, dancehall and rap.
His flow over dancehall beats became a heavy influence on Drake and 'Take Care'. In an interview, Drake admitted to discovering a then-young Sneakbo via YouTube after sitting down one night and going down a wormhole of recommended videos, stating that he couldn't believe the way the Brixton rapper could flow over dancehall beats.
If Drake rates him, then so will you.
Raised on a diet of dub and reggae, this formidable duo perfected their craft over the years throughout Bristol's rave scene and have been storming every city across the country with their signature blend of dub, bass and grime.
Outside of Kahn & Neek, the duo also produce under the guise of Gorgon Sound, for which their collaborative sonics fluctuate between grime and dubstep. Furthermore, the pair also double up as the co-founder and co-owner of Bandulu Records.
Now they head to Oxford's Bullingdon (no, not the place where David Cameron put it in a pig's head...) for another huge Materials party.
Plus, in usual Materials style, one lucky DJ can bag the oppurtunity to jump on the support slot - click here for details!
Bournemouth's party starters Space Cakes are putting two genre-defining legends and a true "DJ's DJ" behind the decks for a very special event at Bournemouth's Old Fire Station. Teaming up with The CALMzone, this triple-threat headline event will help to raise money and awareness for male suicide and mental health issues.
For those not in the know, Plastician (formerly Plasticman) rose to fame on the early-2000s wave of dark sounding garage and dubstep that led him to Radio 1 residencies and the formation of his own label, Terrorhythm Recordings. A DJ that rose through the ranks alongside the likes of Skream, Benga and more, we're excited to see what he's got in the locker.
Also catch the rapidly rising Klose One and Groove Chronicles (Noodles), an absolute legend and pioneer of UK Garage. His distillation of RnB, jungle, broken beat and house into an electrifying new sound helped to build UKG throughout the late nineties and beyond.
It have sold out almost instantly, but there's still a chance for you and a mate to cop yourselves a couple of tickets to the hottest event in a cold Brightonian December.
Step onto a Detroit dancefloor via Manchester with one of Motor City's most respected residents, Mike Huckaby.
A tastemaker, educator, sound designer and legend of Detroit's electronic music scene to say the least, Huckaby has built up an encyclopedic knoweldge of music over the years that translates into some of the most refined selections of mesmeric house, raw techno and groove-laden disco.
Joining Mike on the night is Rainy City Records head honcho and creator of the longstanding Community party, Irfan Rainy. Equally as encyclopedic, Irfan can dive into a library packed out with an incredible array of house, disco, funk, jazz and world music that's guaranteed to have something for everyone.
Plus, London's Perry Louis, Axtaraxia residents Kimedoko and Ēl Fairo are there to warm things up on a cold Mancunian December night.
