Another of the city's iconic venues bites the dust

Bristol's music scene is sprawling and diverse, represented by it's massive range of spaces across the city. From intimate, sweaty basements to large-scale warehouses, the city has a home for every almost every genre you can picture.

However, it's no secret that it's under threat.

With the closure of the Bierkeller and Surrey Vaults over the last year, the looming possibiltiy of Exchange dissapearing and the likes of Thekla and Fiddlers revealing their concerns for the future, the city's musical future is looking harder to read.

And now, yet another popular venue has announced it's closure later this year.

The Tunnels, a unique 350-capacity space located underneath Temple Meads, will close for good after it's last ever gig on December 22nd.

A statement from the owners via Facebook reveals that the venue will be sold off to another business who have no intention of keeping the site as a music venue. Boo.
