RSD is back, and we're here to give you a guide to all things wax

Record Store Day. A day for celebrating 7 and 12-inch pieces of shellac and the sonic joy that they carry, the independent stores that carry on the resurging tradition and the incredible humans behind every aspect from the artists to the labels.

As vinyl's resurgence grows bigger, so does RSD. In fact, so big that it's reunited the Mighty Boosh.

Anyway, here's our ultimate guide to Record Store Day:

Guide to buying second hand vinyl:

Judge a record by it's cover. The sleeve is always a good indication of the condition of the record inside.

Light. Always check a record in good sunlight, it's the best way to see damage, scratches and dirt.

Talking of scratches, feel 'em. Often they're more cosmetic than you think and the sound won't be affected, however...

Always listen in the shop. No brainer.

Check the price. Discogs it - it might be a super obscure, limited run for the same price as a common one, you never know.

Clean it before you play it.
