Calling all music lovers, gig addicts, and people who love a good time!

A weekend of music will take place in some of Cardiff’s most popular music venues in order to aid the homeless.

Music Against Homelessness are hosting a UK-wide campaign named #RoyalBeddingDay which will coincide with the Royal Wedding, where they have planned a series of gigs to take place all over the country.  They have been extremely successful having already raised £100,000 this year, and this particular fundraiser has proven to be very popular.

Creation Records founder Alan McGee is supporting the cause, with many of the public being fast to criticise the inhumane approach taken towards the homelessness on that specific day.

Former staff of ‘The Full Moon,’ (which closed in April 2017) who now go by Creative Republic of Cardiff, have already begun organising the child-friendly Cardiff weekender, which will take place from Saturday the 19th of May until Sunday the 20th.

Creative Republic of Cardiff are a non-profit organisation striving to liven up the music and creative scenes of Cardiff, and what better way to do so than by hosting a weekend of music by a load of local talent in order to support the homelessness charity, Crisis. Each wristband holder can expect entry to some of the city’s most favoured venues along Womanby St including Clwb Ifor Bach, The Moon Tiny Rebel, Undertone and The Big Top.

According to studies, the number of rough sleepers in Cardiff doubled in 2017, and has carried on a slow incline since entering 2018. As well as this, there are about 2,000 people in the city who are in temporary accommodation. Thankfully, it is becoming a much more acknowledged issue, with people taking to the city centre last year in a protest in order to raise awareness of the casualties relating to homelessness.

Creative Republic of Cardiff have made tickets available through Spillers Records, online at Seetickets, and The Moon where tickets cost as little as £16 for the weekend or £10 per day. Expect to catch some cool musicians throughout the weekend, with some yet to be announced. We do know that names such as 3DBrass, Dan Lambert and Jack Perrett are expected to make an appearance on the Saturday, with Al Moses, Hippodrone and The Fflip Fflops taking us into Sunday’s line-up.

There is more info available on the Creative Republic of Cardiff Facebook page, or cop a ticket here.
