After a long battle, the festival is going ahead!

It's been a difficult time for Field Day, however, the London music festival looks like it's finally being granted a licence by Lambeth council for its 2018 gathering. Disputes between the council, festival promoters and local residents have caused a number of setbacks, not to mention the difficulties in relocating a festival of its size to another space within London.

Scheduled to take place in Brockwell Park after disembarking from an 11-year stint in east London's Victoria Park, festival organisers have faced numerous challenges and council accusations of mismanagement, warnings of ecological damage and impending legal action.

Brockwell Park - Field Day's future home

Founded in 2007, Field Day has built a loyal audience drawn in by stellar line-ups and a reputation as a festival that showcases breakthrough artists on their way to stardom. With Erykah Badu, Four Tet, Fever Ray and many more headlining the 2018 edition, we're hoping the transition to Brockwell Park is seamless.

As for the long-term prospects of this festival and the capital's wider festival scene, who knows. For now, make sure to check out our breakdown of the line-up and our favourite artists and bands (hopefully) heading to Brockwell Park!
