Southampton’s favourite disco trio, Gold School, have managed to bring London DJ foursome Horse Meat Disco to Sobar, for what’s sure to be the best garden party in Southampton this year. Gold school have been hot on the scene for a while now, and their disco and house grooves bring the spectators in their masses. Horse Meat Disco are well established in the world of groovy music, securing residencies in London, Berlin and New York throughout their long spanning careers. But their humble beginnings came from a gay night in London every Sunday at The Eagle in Vauxhall, where they aimed to flip the cliché on its head and avoid the sour sounds of either tribal house or plastic pop, and play the more uplifting, fun and funky sounds that came from disco, house, funk and soul.

Since then they’ve made massive movements in the world of music, playing their own weekly radio show on Rinse FM, releasing numerous compilations and EP’s, playing festivals across the globe and promising positive vibes throughout. But most importantly, they certainly don’t mess about when it comes to their selections; rummaging through record boxes has become something of second nature to the exciting collective.

They have been throwing their Horse Meat Disco parties in London for 15 years now, so let’s just say they know what they’re doing. They started aiming to create a safe ‘queer party for everyone’, specifically aimed at the disenfranchised disco enthusiasts hidden away in a mist of Lady Gaga.

Now they’ve achieved their goal, they aim to have a blast and promote happiness for everyone. So, Horse Meat Disco & Gold School at Sobar is certainly going to be a fun and vibrant party in the sun, where you can let loose and dance like a complete freak.
