Are you done with your exams and essays? Time for fun in the sun at Brighton's finest beer gardens!

Summer in Brighton is arguably the best thing ever. Having its own micro-climate, Brighton is one of the sunniest and dryest places in the UK – making it the perfect destination to spend a sun-soaked evening in a beer garden. From stunning hill-side views to beach-gardens, Brighton has it all when it comes to providing a beer garden for every occasion. We've compiled our top 5 list, covering each main area of the city for your convenience and leisure.

The Setting Sun (Hanover)

A beer garden with the best view in town. A charming and cosy pub perched right on top of a hill that borders Hanover and Kemp Town. The Setting sun has a beer garden that faces out to a sweeping view across Brighton and Hove. Come for sunset, and watch the sun disappear into the sea over a cold cider, it is well worth the uphill trek and to get away from the tourist crowds.

Fortune of War (Seafront)

What better beer garden than the actual beach? With an outdoor area stretching halfway to the sea, the nautical-themed bar has become a bit of a local landmark epitomising the Brighton seafront experience. When the sun comes out its garden attracts sun worshipers and day-drinkers alike. However, if you can't find a seat, Fortune of War's neighbouring seafront pub The Tempest Inn also gives you a beach feel.

Hobgoblin (London Road)

An essential for any freshers – Hobgoblin has one of Brighton's largest and most popular beer gardens. With banquet-long tables, heated booths (oh ye), and always a packed vibe, it makes for the rowdiest and livest beer garden contender. With an artsy design and graffiti decor, Hobgoblin is the perfect place to start your sun-kissed weekender.

Block (Kemp Town)

Formerly Neighbourhood, this Brooklyn inspired hipster bar boasts a gorgeous 100 ft sun-trapped beer garden. Known for their epic burgers and beer combo, this vibrant garden is the perfect place for an after-work soak between tropical palm trees and towering local Kemp Town businesses.

The Connaught (Hove)

Calling all true beer garden fanatics. The Connaught in Hove might be a bit of a trek, however, is a proper pub with a proper pub garden.  I'm talking lush green and spacious, with a BBQ on its lawns. Perfect place to spend an entire Sunday, serving up a scrumptious roast too. Also, gives you an excuse to explore Hove (yes, its part of the city) and all its beauty.
