Year after year there seems to be a huge amount of festivals taking place in England, and it feels as though there are never any taking place in Wales. However, after a little research, we have put together a list of top festivals that are taking place in Wales over the summer.

Green Man

This festival is an independent music and arts festival which is held annually in one of the valleys’ most cherished towns, Crickhowell, which is situated in the Brecon Beacons. This is the 15^th consecutive year for the hugely popular festival, which has stunning mountains offering a backdrop like no other.

Expect to catch bands like Fleet Foxes and The War on Drugs to be part of the Welsh weekender, taking place at the end of August. If this takes your fancy you need to be hot on your heels for this one, sources say its tickets away from selling out!

Steel House Festival

Deemed the UK’s highest music festival, this classic rock weekender will be held for the 7^th time in the breath-taking area of Hafod-y-Dafal Farm, which too, is located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.  Steel House prides itself on striving to offer the best ‘value for money’ experience, where it hopes to welcome many locals for a weekend of dancing and fun.

Expect to catch bands such as Thunder and Blackstar Riders at the festival. Frontman Myles Kennedy of leading American band Alterbridge is also making an appearance over the weekend. Be sure to check this one out, with tickets ranging from £95 for both days, beginning on the 27^th of July.

Festival No.6

Taking place a little later in the year, this one begins on the 9^th of September and is located in the stunning Portmeirion. Festival No.6 prides itself on offering the most unique festival setting, situated in a beautifully unique town. Line-up for this festival is also surprisingly popular with performances from Jessie Ware, Franz Ferdinand and Friendly Fires.

The festival also offers a broad range of activities across the weekender, so there is always something to do, which caters for every person. Prices start from £180 for the weekender, so make sure to catch this one if you’re into a calmer setting for a festival!

Swn Festival

This one stretches the summer vibes out a little longer at it takes place towards the end of October. Deemed as one of the city’s favourites, Swn was originally created by BBC’s Huw Stephens, which first took place in 2007. Swn is a multi-venue festival which offers patrons four days to explore and discover new music over the whole of South Wales.

This festival prides itself on being able to draw in the best emerging and established acts from around the world to come and shake their hips in the Welsh Capital! Expect to catch the popular Boy Azooga rock the festival along with acts like Sheldrake and Teddy Hunter. Tickets are as little as £25 for the weekend so snap ‘em up! We know we will!
