The Estevans have opted for wrenched riffs, punchy drums and some old school indie attitude for their debut release, ‘2 Minutes from the Lincoln’.
The echoes of a Noughties brand of rock in ‘2 Minutes in the Lincoln’ are clear, derived from lofi punk and Britpop jangles in the guitar. Characterised by blunt and brutal lyrics dripping with British idioms, the song is a lyrical tale of the daily life you cross as you walk through provincial towns full of bored young people with nothing to do.
The bouncy beat and earworm hooks make this an choice three minutes to get rowdy to, and The Estevans could certainly work up a crowd with songs that have much energy and vigour as this.
