MTV comes through with the goods in yet another dramatic award show

Spawning some of the best-worst celebrity moments each and every summer, from Kanye's now legendary stage invasion to Lady Gaga's vomit-worthy meat dress, the MTV VMAs is undoubtedly guaranteed to be one of the most talked about events of the year.

It's a reliably weird affair in comparison to other music awards shows, like the Mercury Prize's trashier yet depressingly more successful little brother.

Some of the standout moments from this year include Post Malone playing guitar for Aerosmith, Tiffany Haddish comparing Jersey Shore to herpes and Cardi B appearing to breastfeed on stage before revealing a swaddled Moonman.

In and amongst the strangeness there was at least some time for a few wholesome moments; Logic and Ryan Tedder gave a powerful rendition of their track "One Day" alongside dozens of kids affected by President Trump's controversial immigration policies. They wore shirts that read "We Are All Human" in support of the cause.

Big winners of the evening included Childish Gambino, picking up 3 awards for "This Is America", and Camila Cabello who won Artist Of The Year and Video Of The Year for "Havana".

The show airs tonight in the UK on MTV at 20:00GMT (Tuesday, 21st August), one whole day later than our cousins across the pond, so there's no need to panic if you didn't find that coveted live stream (which you shouldn't have even been looking for anyway, shame on you).

If FOMO is getting the better of you and just have to spoil it for yourself beforehand, here's your complete list of winners from this year's ceremony:
