"UA92 is a game-changing educational experience designed to unlock greatness"

Gary and Phill Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes have all been very busy since their retirement.

The Class of 92 have been heavily involved in media, punditry and other business ventures since the final whistle of their footballing careers. Gary Neville and Giggs are involved in massive development, a huge construction project that will reshape Manchester's skyline, as well as the group taking on the challenge of co-owning Salford Football Club.

Their latest project, a brand new university in Manchester, marks the group's first step into the world of education - with a difference. With backing from Lancaster University, local government and corporate partners such as Microsoft, University Academy 92 (UA92) will detach itself from the traditional academic world and focus on "accelerating careers in business, media and sport".

An emphasis will be put on personal development, not only in the academic sense but also socially and psychologically. Gary Neville, who has been driving force behind the project, wants to prepare students for the workplace by giving them a real return for their investment.

Located a stones throw from Old Trafford and donning a red and black colour scheme, it makes any redbrick uni sound stuffy and outdated. Could this be the future of education?

Interestingly, in 2012, a company was registered under the name of Class of 92 Ltd. Take a closer look and you'll see an interesting name pop up as 'co-director'. Who? None other than the man himself, David Beckham.
