Leeds' favourite club is closing its doors after two massive decades

In another sad blow for music venues, the announcement has just hit that Leeds' legendary club, MiNT, is closing down.

According to MiNT's Facebook, the area around the club is being comprehensively developed, meaning the club were unable to renew their license.

The club's history runs back to 1998, where Derrick Carter played the first MiNT Show for Back To Basics. Ever since, this intimate venue has played host to an endless list of incredible artists and played a key role in nurturing Leeds' underground scene.

For now, it's not all doom and gloom. With some huge 20th anniversary celebrations lined up, plus some other big projects and events coming up in 2019, there's still time to see off the venue the right way - on the dancefloor.
