Ye's love affair with Trump appears to finally be over, as he takes to Twitter to distance himself from the controversial president.
No stranger to controversy, Ye hit a new record when he became an unofficial mouthpiece for President Trump. Their heavily publicised relationship stretches all the way back to a meeting at Trump Tower in 2016, shortly after Trump was elected.
More recently, Kanye sat down with the president in the Oval Office this month in a bizarre meeting which saw Kanye drop the F-bomb, pound the Resolute Desk and share a hug with President Trump.
However, in a surprise turnaround (although who among us are truly surprised by anything Kanye does anymore?), he took to Twitter on Tuesday 30th October to denounce the POTUS and make the claim that he has been 'used to spread messages I don't believe in'.
'My eyes are now wide open and now realize I've been used to spread messages I don't believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!,' Kanye wrote in one of a number of tweets.

In his tweets, Kanye also attacked Trump's contentious immigration policy. Under Trump, children have been separated from their families and detained in the notorious ICE detention centres.
I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable.

I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.
The Kanye/Trump split comes in the wake of Kanye's apparent association with the 'Blexit' movement, an exodus of black Americans from the Democratic party, spearheaded by conservative Candace Evans.
The Blexit movement hit international headlines almost solely because of the association with Ye after Evans credited him with designing their logo. Yet Kanye now claims he has 'nothing to do with' the movement and that he was credited with designing the logo after the original designer 'didn't want their name on it'.
I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.

We're guessing this means there's now zero chance of seeing Ye run for president in 2020, but don't hold your breath - stranger things have happened.
