Blessing The Rains for all eternity
Namibian-German artist Max Siedentopf has set up a new sound installation in the middle of the African desert, with the aim to play Toto's "Africa" on an infinite repeat. Titled, "Toto Forever", the piece will use six speakers, an MP3 player and solar panels to eternally pump out everyone's favourite party tune.
“I was very intrigued by this and wanted to pay the song the ultimate homage and physically exhibit ‘Africa’ in Africa,” Siedentopf wrote to NPR. “The Namibian desert—which is, with 55 million years, the oldest desert in the world—seemed to be the perfect spot for this.”
