A total of 28 pubs in Bristol are taking part in National Pub Fortnight, during which 50,000 first come first serve free pints will be served across the whole of the UK.

The announcement is aimed to help promote local pubs and make people more aware of their role in the local culture. Being as there's a limited amount of pints available, you can only order one free drink from each pub. However, there's nothing against creating a completely free pub crawl out of it!

It's not just going to the pub and getting a free drink though. There's a bit of preparation required first, but it's worth it, and it's 100% free.


Part One: The Site

To start preparing for your free drinks, head over to this website and tell them which pub you'll be going to. The site is currently only available on your phone or tablet, though, not on a computer. After this, you can download a voucher.

Part Two: The Pubs


There are 19 pubs across the whole of the city of Bristol taking part, with an extra nine just on the outskirts of the city. If you want an extensive list, these are the ones in the city...

Smoke & Mirrors, Cat and Wheel, Ye Shakespeare, White Rabbit, Vittoria, Ship, White Hart, Fire Engine, Jersey Lily, Nova Scotia, Eastfield Inn, George, Sandringham Hotel, Bear and Rugged Staff, Railway Tavern, New Moon, Hope and Anchor, Dolphin and the Old Mail House.

And the other nine: Duke of Cornwall, Charlton, Sawyers Arms, Poacher, Swan Inn, Nut Tree, Borough Arms, Bristol Hotel and the Ship Inn.

Phew.

Part Three: The Drinks


You can't pop in and order anything on the menu, there are 10 drinks which are getting involved, including Strongbow Dark Fruit, Fosters and Bulmers.

If you want another list: Fosters, John Smith, Kronenbourg 1664, Strongbow, Strongbow Dark Fruit, Heineken, Amstel, Old Mout, Bulmers and Heineken.

Make sure to tell the bar that you want it for free for this project, otherwise they'll process it as normal! Free pints are available until August 5, and each pub has a maximum of 25 to give away, so head down now!
