Activision announce a remastered Spyro the Dragon Trilogy, due for release in September!
After the recent remastering of Crash Bandicoot, more video game nostalgia is on the way with a re-release of the first three games of the Spyro the Dragon series.
Crash Bandicoot was a huge fan favourite and its return to PlayStation (and now other platforms as well) was given an incredibly upbeat response. As a result, Activision have announced the relaunch of Spyro.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be released on September 21, and a trailer has appeared online. It will feature remastered versions of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
Spyro's acquaintances in the games will all return too, including Hunter, Sheila, Agent 9 and others, but with updated looks. All levels have been based on the original series, but aesthetically updated for the new trilogy.
As an extra treat for fans, the original voice actor for Spyro, Tom Kenny, will be returning as the lead protagonist himself, while the soundtrack of the original trilogy will also be slightly updated for the three new games.
It's out on September 21 and is available for pre-order now. We can't wait to blow fire and charge into gnorcs once more!
