TUCKSHOP is set to open its doors for their first ever event on March 14, at popular Bristol destination Thekla no less. Promising some of the best in UK house, techno and disco, TUCKSHOP is looking to set itself up to become a staple monthly event for the ever-growing scene.

Heading up the line-up is O’Flynn, a young producer from London who specialises in funky, African-influenced percussive house and disco. Developing as an exciting new name in the Electronic scene, O’Flynn’s tracks such as ‘Tyrion’ have proven popular. Exemplary of the influence behind his melodies, the track was rarely left out of Four Tet’s sets, even being played at his Boiler Room, while ‘Desmond’s Empire’ was used as a sound of summer during the festival season backed with support from Gilles Peterson. O’Flynn himself explains that the influence came from a trip to Fez in Morocco in which his friend joked that, upon watching some women jam on percussion, all that was needed was a kick and bass to make it a track. O’Flynn took the remark seriously and when he got back, ‘Tyrion’ was created with that in mind.

Since ‘Tyrion’, O’Flynn has only continued producing pounders such as ‘Glow Worm’, which was presented as one of the highlights of a great year for the young artist according to Electronica champ Bonobo, and was named as one of the ‘Best Singles of 2016’ by Phonica. ‘Tru Dancing’ is another disco-house example of O’Flynn’s ability to bring the party to life and cause carnage on the dancefloor.

Good Music, No Artificial Vibes and Suitable for Everyone are the three key tenets that TUCKSHOP is employing for its events, and with O’Flynn leading their first line up it is fair to say these tenets are likely to hold true. Not only that, the supposed promise of free jelly babies being present all night only furthers how exciting this show is looking to be.
