Dot to Dot Festival takes place in just a couple of weeks' time! We've gathered up some of the new announcements for you!

With the local Dot to Dot acts announced yesterday (May 4) for this year's lineup, we thought we’d give you some recommendations of who to go and see. Which Bristol/South West artists should you check out at this year's festival? Here’s seven to take a look at.

Joe Probert - image by Harry Pugsley

Native first saw Joe Probert play as support for Sam Fender. He blew us away with his performance as both drummer and vocalist. Despite sitting at the back on the kit, he held our attention and captivated the crowd. Whoever said singing drummers were a rarity was right, but Probert might just inspire a new generation of musicians to try it out.

Probert’s singer-songwriter style has developed a lot recently, incorporating some funky vibes and an indie rock sound, so he’s definitely one to check out. Keep an eye on this one.

Agata - image by Harriet Simmons

With delicately beautiful vocals and an emotionally alternative approach to song-writing, Agata is someone to catch at this year’s D2D. She holds an elegant style in both her music and image, while telling honest and relatable stories through song.

Her most recent live piano session has racked up over 3000 views and is a pretty good indication of what to expect from her performance - you can have a watch of that on her Facebook page. Keep up with Agata before D2D on her Instagram, and you might see her appear on our Instagram on the festival day too...

Chay Snowdon - image by Sarah-Louise Burns

This is how modern rock ‘n’ roll should sound. Chay Snowdon have had a number of great singles out over the past couple of years, and chances are they’ll play them all as well as a few new ones. The band’s most recent single ‘Zenobia’ is one that will get you moving, with its infectious guitar intro and fast-paced drums. Taking influence from the likes of Elvis and Arctic Monkeys, Chay Snowdon’s live performances are fun and fascinating.

They’re crowd-pleasers, in the most rock ‘n’ roll way possible.

James Humphrys - image by Jack Lazarus Ward

We’re big fans of James Humphrys here at Native Bristol, and we can’t wait to see him play live at D2D. His indie-pop vibe is just what we need in the run-up to summer, a tropical dream sandwich with funky influences and a cheeky grin to go with it.

His latest single ‘The River’ was covered exclusively by us, so definitely check that out before the festival. He’s headlining The Crofter’s Rights on June 12, with Joe Probert and Agata supporting. Get tickets here.

Humphrys will be taking over Native’s Instagram for part of the festival as well - be sure to give us a follow @nativebristol so you don’t miss it!

Mia and Tuesday - image by Em Marcovecchio

This twin duo is new to us, but we like what we hear. Mia and Tuesday describe themselves as making “dreamy duo-pop love songs that make you cry for your mother and a box of chicken nuggets, with nostalgic harmonies that ascend your body into the clouds.” We’d say that’s pretty accurate.

Their indie-folk songs are making an impact, and with a full band now backing them there’s no stopping the music.

Farebrother - image by Chloe Dunscombe

Farebrother are another band we’re big champions of here at Native. Their indie-rock sound is contagiously good, and their last two singles ‘A Little Late’ and ‘Rewind’ did incredibly well. The band hail from Bath, but Bristol is their second home and we are all too happy to take them in and claim them as our own.

Watching this band live at D2D needs to be on your list – their set last year at Mr Wolf’s went down extremely well, and no doubt those who saw them then will be back for more.

Jasper Storey - image by Evie Spicer

Folky-funky Jasper Storey is on D2D’s line-up for a good reason. Jazzy influences and laid-back vocals will smooth your soul and get you grooving, and his old-school charm is irresistible to your ears. His EP Dreaming Awake came out last year and is certainly worth your time: from the cheeky upbeat ‘It’s All on Us’ to the emotional ‘Me+She’, Jasper Storey shows his versatility on a record that everyone can love.

Don’t miss him perform, look out for when and where on his Facebook.

So there you have it! Seven artists which we say should not be missed under any circumstances! Of course, there is an enormous amount going on across Bristol on May 26, and you can find out more information and get tickets over to the D2D website.
