With the start of the university only a few months away, summer is the prime time to load up on the online tools for next year.

With an array of web resources tailored for students out there, it can sometimes be difficult to separate the useless from the useful. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of the best student web resources, including some that will save your money, others time, and even some to improve your academia (yes, that thing you do at uni).

Study & Work

Cite This For MeWhat did students use to do before automatic citation software? Spend hours and hours painfully referencing by hand. Thank God for all us all, we have websites like Cite This For Me, which generate correctly formatted citation at the click of a button.

Easy BibLess popular, but equally as effective – Easy Bib is a citation platform that also provides note-taking and research tools.

GrammarlyEvery writer's little secret, a writing-enhancement platform that proofreads, detects plagiarism, and checks against 250 grammar rules. Basically Microsoft Word on steroids, plus you can add the app as a web browser extension – checking everything you type.

Media Beans:  A list of the best media jobs and internships in the UK. New jobs are added each day, including the ones hidden behind paywalls, paid-job searching services, and deep in Twitter.

The Guardian Jobs: Arguably the best online search tool for graduate jobs in all sectors. Plus tons of resources on writing cover letters, networking, CV, and job hunting.

Social & Leisure

The Student Room: The largest student community in the world, ask it basically anything – from universities, relationships, finance and more. Plus get tips on uni applications and free revision tools.

The National Student: An online magazine produced by student journalists for students. Great platform for supporting the new generation of writers and content creators – so get in touch for opportunities.

Bob MediaAn academic-focused video platform, that allows you to search for recorded programmes from over 65-free-to-air channels, and search an extensive archive of TV and film gold.

NativeOf course where is any student web resource list, without our very own app. Native is the number one nightlife tool, listing all the events in your city and providing students tons of ways to save money when going out.

Drunk Mode: A personal favourite, avoid the embarrassment and guilt of waking up after a big night out. Drunk Mode allows you to block certain people for up to 12 hours and only get back in contact if you sober up, by answering a maths question.
