Crucast brought their explosive Spring tour to Liverpool's Invisible Wind Factory
Bassline is slowly but surely seeping into the mainstream, finally getting the attention it deserves as one of the most exciting genres in recent times. Leading the charge in this movement is Crucast, an independent record label with an impressive catalogue of up-and-coming talent who definitely know how to put on a good show, seen recently at their event in Liverpool.
Down by the docks, tucked away along the back streets, Crucast’s finest made an appearance at the cavernous Invisible Wind Factory for a night hard to forget.
Nottingham legends Darkzy and Mr Virgo dished out some serious beats all night long. Drawing inspiration from garage, grime and even dubstep in places, these talents are revitalising the club scene. Alongside these two giants, relative newcomer Skepsis from London had the crowd in the palm of his hand, especially when the massive ‘Goes Like’ dropped, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Aside from their own material, there were plenty of club classic remixes to go around, keeping everyone on their toes all night.
Energy levels in the venue could not have been reached if it wasn’t for the infectious hype delivered by MC Bru-C. Already renowned for his high-octane collaborations with fellow Nottingham stars Darkzy and Mr Virgo (to name a few), Bru-C kept the crowd going at a relentless pace. Whether he was hyping them up with chants, darting across the stage or spitting bars at the speed of light, everyone was entirely under the control of both the MC and the bassline.
It was a unifying experience. People were there to have a blast and it was abundantly clear that’s what was happening. With such an impressive string of shows across the country, these are some DJs you don’t wanna mess with. The future is looking bright.
