The Warehouse Project will bid a final farewell to the Store Street venue following the forthcoming 2018 season.

Manchester's Warehouse Project will this year close its famous Store Street venue permenantly. When WHP returned to Store Street in 2014 it was intended for one season only, but four years later the venue will finally be waved goodbye.

The Warehouse Project have released the following on Twitter:

'With Manchester in constant evolution and the zone around Store Street undergoing incredible transformation, our time here is drawing to a natural conclusion. When WHP returned to Store Street in 2014 it was intended for one season only.. Four years later we are calling time. There will be no return.'

'Whilst we are of course looking forward to the next chapter and discovering new places to dance, Store Street will forever be considered the spiritual home of The Warehouse Project by around a million people who have danced under those arches.'

A venue which has seen some of the best DJs in the country take to the decks is sure to be missed in a city which thrives off its underground music scene. Though the next venue is set to offer even more to the WHP season and Store Street was often criticised for its regular overcrowding, it's legacy and importance in Manchester's dance scene will live on.

It's safe to say we're bittersweet about Store Street.

WHP18 is revealed tomorrow (Wednesday 25th July) at 9am. Register for presale here.
