Our story
native was founded to solve a growing challenge: students are harder to reach and feel more disconnected, while the organisations that support them face increasing financial pressure. At the same time, students are one of the most valuable Gen Z audiences for brands, yet one of the hardest to engage. What began as a way to surface what was happening on campus has become the UK’s leading student engagement and campus media platform, helping brands and campus teams understand, engage and retain students across most UK universities and a growing network of US campuses. Our focus has stayed the same: helping campuses create stronger student experiences so every student gets more out of university.

This was the start of today’s native. We moved beyond event discovery to become the platform that plugged into campus teams’ existing tools, bringing student life into one place so it could be promoted and grown.

When Covid disrupted campus life, we adapted, fast. We enabled universities to run large-scale virtual engagement programmes, keeping students connected across 40+ campuses at a time when it mattered most.

native scaled rapidly. With over 70 employees and 75+ campus partners, we reached more than 1.6 million students and created a new, reliable revenue stream for Students’ Unions through campus media and advertising.

We doubled down on in-person engagement. High energy campus fairs supported by digital promotion made Freshers our biggest season yet and proved that experiences drive student participation at scale.

native entered a new phase of growth. With a team of 120+ and a proven UK model, we expanded into the US through partnerships with the University of Utah Union, UCLA and UCB. We’re now building a transatlantic campus network that supports better student experiences while helping brands connect with relevance and purpose.
